Previous Experience
With more than 15 years of experience working in the architecture and construction sector, the COeSA team has gathered strong and diverse expertise in the making of state-of-the-art projects. This is also the result of having worked in some of the most prestigious and relevant design offices in the UK and abroad. A few of the projects we have been involved with in the past are listed below.
ZAHA HADID ARCHITECTS
MORPHEUS HOTEL, MACAU
Miguel Samanez: Senior Architect in charge of the design and development of the hotel interiors.
“Informed by the fluid forms within China’s rich traditions of jade carving, the Morpheus’ design combines dramatic public spaces and generous guest rooms with innovative engineering and formal cohesion” (Zaha Hadid Architects). Miguel’s responsibilities included delivering the vision of the awarded interior spaces and delivering an innovative concept which saw the addition of a landmark project to the developer’s portfolio.
ARBOREAL ARCHITECTURE
LOFT LIBRARY, LONDON
Alda Coelho: Project Architect managing the project from beginning to completion.
“By replacing the diagonal truss members with plywood arches the Loft Library was formed with a stair access, small bench, shelves between arches and a study space at the end.” (Arboreal Architecture). Among many recognitions, the project received the award for Winner of Most Innovative category at the NLA Don’t Move Improve 2019.
HEATHERWICK STUDIO
GOOGLE KING’S CROSS, LONDON
Miguel Samanez: Lead Designer managing the integration of structural systems and the design of the public areas.
“For a company whose fame comes from a virtual world of data this project is part of it engaging in the public physical world in a new way. Internally the workplace, with its triple height ceilings, is designed to bring people together. Externally at the ground the street will come alive in unexpected ways” (Heatherwick Studio). Miguel was part of the team which created the strategy for a suspended structure which increased the available area for street markets and pop-up stores at ground level.
JOÃO MENDES RIBEIRO
CASA ROBALO CORDEIRO, LONDON
Alda Coelho: Architect designing the cantilevered additions to the existing property.
“The rear façade underwent very significant changes with the insertion of three volumes: a concrete volume that extends the living room over the courtyard, a corten steel volume on the first floor and a third volume in wood on the attic” (João Mendes Ribeiro). The design team helped rebuild a degraded property while adding a distinctive character through the addition of modern-style volumes to the back.
